The only people in the world who speak honestly to you are crazies on a psych ward. Everybody else dwells in subtext, forever avoiding the issues and living in total denial with respect to anything that’s the least bit important.
Crazies read the Wall Street Journal while you’re immersed in the latest celebrity gossip zines.
Schizophrenics are far more intelligent than you are.
They worry to the point of obsession. They worry about global warming, about nuclear weapons, about the national debt, chemical warfare, moral decline, Armageddon – in short, about all the things that the rest of us “sane” people know damn well are happening but choose to ignore.
While all the “normal” people live out our lives in a straitjacket crazies have no such inhibitions.
They‘re like children. Everybody else plays their roles, keeps up with the Joneses, pretends to be in the know about superficial issues, and generally manages to mold their every thought and action into what other people expect of them. They’re politically correct in every way.
Peer pressure is alien to psychos. They are who they are, and they behave as they damn well please. Our society locks them up on psych wards because we’re afraid of reality, afraid of ourselves.
Everybody should spend time on a psych ward in a nonjudgmental environment. Let your true personality come out. Take a chance. Live in the moment. Watching this film is the next best thing.
