GI Joe The Rise of Cobra

I call this the rise of the gays in the military. Now they get to wear fancy ear rings into combat.

Even in battle, gays must be the center of attention.

The Army motto isn’t “There are no whites, blacks, Asians, or Hispanics in the military — everybody is green” but “…everybody is green or gay.” Hurray for the new GI Gays.

There is no visceral connection to reality anywhere. This is a cocaine trip that never slows down. The super soldiers in their armor are like gays in Politically Correct Hollywood invulnerable to all crashes, disasters, criticisms, or threats to their supremacy.

The iron mask of retribution is typical of actors these days. No facial expressions for fear of wrinkling their makeup — or messing up that expensive plastic surgery. Emotions are evil. If you dare show emotions, you will be banned from the Screen Actor’s Guild, and even your progeny will be banned for conduct unbecoming.

Alas, the nerds back at HQ who watch all the action on big screens (like the cowardly generals who watch virtual reality on the battlefield in the Pentagon, basking in vicarious glory like emotional vampires) are heroes, too. After all, 9 out of 10 soldiers in Afghanistan never see combat. That’s an awful lot of fat, lazy Joes.

Freedom didn’t win the day here. Narcissm did. They show no sadness for the hundreds of GI Joe’s killed in the action. They aren’t humble, honest, modest comic book characters with a tragic flaw.

These are perfect humans who will never, ever lose anything — not even their good looks, their perfect smiles, their suave moves, or their “all-American” attitude. Their character arcs are a flatline on the cardiac monitor — max’d out at the “I am the greatest” amplitude.

The only character true to himself is the faceless, nonspeaking Ninja. All the others admire him, though. He follows orders like a machine and executes them like a computer program.

What every GI Joe strives for. What the Army strives for: “Army of One.”

I, me, myself, am the greatest of the great, great….
