Achtung !

I spent the last 3 weeks being hounded by hackers from one dedicated server hosting provider to another.  It’s been a harrowing experience.  Then last night (February the 24th) I turned on the radio while cooking supper and listened to the Sunday talk show “Meet the Press.”

Five minutes of listening to the Republicans and Democrats wrangle over this new “crisis,” and I rushed back to my computer, lowered all the security protocols on my new server/website and waited expectantly – hopefully ! – for the hackers and spambots and virtual terrorists to rip me up.  P-lease!!

Nothing has changed in Washington.  Both sides are still saying exactly the same thing.  Republicans are anxious to obliterate the federal and state tax codes so they can void taxes on the wealthy altogether.  Democrats are manufacturing piss-ant budget cuts into a harrowing crisis.

Good grief, Charlie Brown!  Obama’s budgets for the last four years have been $1 trillion more than during the Bush years. They can’t cut $84 billion of fat off the side of roast beef without firing air traffic controllers and meat inspectors and other vital federal workers?

Every year the thumb suckers in DC budget their departments for automatic “baseline” budget increases of 6% of so.  Sequestration is nothing more than living year-to-year in a flat-baseline budget world like all the rest of us.  They can’t survive one year without their automatic budget increase?  Wimps.

The scariest part was when two Wall Street bigshots (Maria Bartiromo and Jim Kramer, both multi-multi-millionaires) were interviewed and said they were especially worried about cuts to the Defense Department budget.  “We’re worried about our national security.”

Hello?  Wall Street has facilitated the transfer of trillions of dollars in assets, millions of jobs, and countless technological secrets to China over the last 2 decades.  China’s 5-million-man army with 2.5 million special forces soldiers makes the U.S. army’s 20,000 special forces look like plastic toy GI Joe soldiers in a playground sandpit.

The only thing that bothers Wall Street is the threat of losing all those $1000 toilet seats and multi-million dollar “consulting” contracts that defense contractors use to pad their bottom line.

I’ll solve this budget fiasco right here and now:  Make all salaried federal workers in every department work overtime (WITHOUT OVERTIME PAY) until they slash expenses by the required amount.  That’ll grease the wheels of government plenty good.

It was such a pleasant 2 weeks off the grid, I think I’ll keep my distance from the news for a while longer – weeks, Months, maybe even YEARS.  Yes!  I have a whole new series of essays I will be posting, kind of a philosophical analysis of politics and our culture in general.

It’s called the “Nazipedia,” and I’ll start adding segments as soon as I get the site put back together.

Sieg Heil!
