Alphaville

I took a road trip to LA once, to pay homage to the Gods of Political Correctness who rule Hollywood.

I had flashbacks of those few sordid days while watching this film, then nightmares and cold sweats all night long.

Alphaville

In the morning I was dizzy, disoriented, and fought this compusion to commit suicide…

Alphaville is a futuristic city controlled by a humongous computer with a gravelly voice and total control over all activities by its one-dimensional robotic inhabitants. People who display any symptoms of humanity (love, sympathy, tears, compassion, conscience) are summarily executed at a grand “festival” attended by all the city’s power elite.

Logic is the rule, and all who display the slightest sign of illogical thinking — well, they’re shot then taken away by a dozen vestal virgins in white bathing suits.

It sounds quite ridiculous, but it’s actually very VERY real. You show the least signs of conservatism in Hollywood, and you’re black listed. They say Dark Knight lost out on an Academy Award because it was pro George W. Bush. (Say what? Harvey Dent, the two faced pervert?)

There are conservatives in Hollywood, sure, but they’re all “in the closet.” You have to be a gay-loving, drug-sucking, narcissistic freak to make it in Tinseltown. The only way conservatives make it is to have gay sex while high on drugs in an HBO special piped into living rooms and kindergardens around the world.

At least in the movie Alphaville, the mega computer “Alpha 60” only controls the city itself. However, Alpha 60 is working 24/7 on a plan to attack the untamed “Outlands.” That was back in 1965. Apparently Alpha 60’s plan worked.

Alpha 60 has now vanquished all opposition to Political Correctness (PC).

Nobody knows how the themes of PC are initiated. An idea just pops up on the web one day, and it goes viral. A month ago there was a story on NPR about how a billionaire entrepreneur is giving six high school seniors a $100,000/year salary to prove that college is useless any more.

A week later there was a front page editorial on CNN, “is college worth it any more???”

And so it begins…

A year from now, college will be deemed irrelevant. It doesn’t matter that the unemployment rate among college graduates is 2%, versus 10% for everybody else. It doesn’t matter that the U.S. is already ranked last in science and math education in the whole world.

Alpha 60 says college is irrelevant, and so it will be.

Praise be to God in the highest, so help me Alpha 60.

Amen.
