I bet you don’t even know it if you live in a sanctuary city. Most major U.S. cities are sanctuary cities. Here’s a complete list. There are even two sanctuary STATES.
Read the list to find out which ones.
A sanctuary city is a municipality where it is unlawful to check on a person’s immigration status for any reason. New York City, Miami, Austin, Houston, Minneapolis, Los Angeles – those you would expect. The 250 others will surprise you. It’s inevitable that you either live in one or know somebody who does.
What does this nice-sounding word mean?
It means (1) illegals get minority preference for set-aside contracts for city construction and other contracts. And you wonder why Hispanic businesses are booming in this down economy? Easy government work plus cheep illegal labor using your compadres from south of the border equals put-the-anglo-out-of-business-economics.
It means (2) illegals can register to vote. Many jurisdictions let you vote with just a utility receipt or an apartment rental contract. No problem.
It means (3) illegals serve on juries because juries are drawn from the voter registration rolls. How many convicted criminals would go free if there was a class action lawsuit against requiring the authorities to show birth certificates for all the jurors?
It means (4) illegals qualify for city and state unemployment insurance, health insurance, and all the other benefits enjoyed by municipal employees.
It means (5) illegals can obtain Social Security cards with ease – legally! – using their work history, voter registration cards, jury summons, driver’s licenses, credit cards, you name it – which gets them access to Social Security Disability Insurance, Medicare, Medicaid and all related government programs.
It means (6) there are so many illegals and illegal-sympathizers in your community that they had enough votes to make your home town into a sanctuary city in the first place.
It means (7) they have a majority plus vote to do anything they damn well please with your city.
It means you’re screwed, gringo.
