Now I know why so many kids these days suffer from Attention Deficit Disorder. Don’t take my word for this. Watch this film.
No, I’m not referring to the evil child of Satan, now all grown up and flexing his muscles on the world stage. I’m referring to the s – l – o – w pace of this film. It’s agonizing!
Long, endless panoramic vistas in verdant pastures of men on horseback chasing foxes on the hunt with everybody in their black velvet riding tuxedos, and a pack of hounds chasing the poor fox over hill and over dale while the bad guys set up an obvious trap for the clueless son of Satan.
A modern editing room would cut and paste the entire plot of this film into one ten minute segment between ads for Post toasties and Budweiser. And we’d still be sorely tempted to switch channels after 5 agonizing minutes.
Society is Satanist any more. Well, maybe we would watch until the commercial break. Satan is cool, especially a young Sam Neill as Satan. Sex appeal!
There’s something oddly compelling about how easily people in this film are brainwashed, mesmerized, programmed – and driven to kill without any qualms. We have no difficulty whatsoever with making this connection or accepting it. Because it happens to us all the time!
That’s political correctness for you. Once you’re in sync with the mob instinct anything is possible. Anything at all.
Long live Satan.
