These days there are so many billionaires (and multi-mega-millionaires) that 10% of the purchase price of every product you buy anywhere goes directly into a billionaire’s bank account.
Every time you buy a Microsoft product, Bill Gates gets 10% of the purchase price, tax free; PLUS whatever he makes as CEO of Microsoft, PLUS whatever he makes as owner of millions of shares of MS stock. Hmmm — make that 20% of your purchase price. Ditto for almost anything you buy anymore.
The banks are clearly in control, now as then. The technology is a little different, but the methods and the means are the same. There was a mortgage scam in the early 1930’s that deepened the recession and cost millions of Americans their homes. (One of seven that have been perpetrated by government before the curreng tragic debacle.)
Organized crime is still in cahoots with the authorities. The FBI is still as dirty as a ghetto sewer, for being the strong arm that keeps the big gears grinding, grinding us all unto dust.
Banks have it down to a science now. They suck money from your mutual funds with their 50:1 leverage, their microsecond day trading computer programs, and their inside information.
They own both political parties, and so they actually have much more than inside information — they create the events themselves now.
The bank’s 20,000 lobbyists in Washington, with their billion-dollar budgets (paid by you out of the purchase price of everything you purchase), and their “mortgage backed” securities that sucked 50% of your home value right out from under you.
The big banks aren’t even American any more. How long since you talked to a real live American on your credit card help line? They’re all in Thailand, Hong Kong, Korea, and Japan. The operators are foreigners and the robbers are too.
There’s really only one solution. Stop buying things. Get off the maniacal wagon train of conspicuous consumption.
Stop chasing your tail. Instead of buying bigger houses, newer cars, and the latest fashion in clothes, sock that money away for your kid’s education.
Go back to school yourself, learn a musical instrument, live a little.
