Welcome to Conservative Immigration Fantasy Land

Republicans in Congress are delusional if they think Obama will secure our borders, no matter what kind of bill they pass.  Obama won’t enforce any other provisions such a bill might mandate either, such as using e-verify or universal background checks.

" Don't worry, Pepe. I won't enforce it even if they pass it... "
” Don’t worry, Pepe. I won’t enforce it even if they pass it… “

The plain truth is that our borders will be wide open for four more years; eight more years if Hillary is elected to succeed Obama, maybe even 12 years if she wins a second term.  During that time the illegal immigration population will double, maybe even triple.

The only solution to any of this is a mandate that’s enforceable by the states.  About the best you can get in this political climate is Rush Limbaugh’s suggestion to prohibit any illegal immigrant from voting for a minimum of 25 years.

Better yet, make it unlawful for the first generation of illegals gaining citizenship to ever be eligible to vote at any level; not federal, state or local.

What have illegals done with their voting power but created 250 sanctuary cities and voted themselves full citizenship rights.  There can be no financial or tax penalty for that.  The only penalty is to take away their right to vote forever.

Moreover, if any illegal in this category is every convicted on ONE felony, they lose everything.  Adios, amigos.

The only viable solution is to first pass a bill requiring Obama to secure the borders.  This should be done by an independent agency with independent funding.  This agency should be totally beyond the power of the president’s influence.  He can’t limit funding or manpower or access or anything.

Once the borders are secure THEN we can look at immigration reform and ONLY then.  Obama has to prove himself, too.  He’s violated every law Congress has on the books with regard to immigration.  He has to pay a price, too.

Furthermore, Obama should be required to enforce ALL immigration laws currently on the books.  This should be overseen by an independent agency to be sure Obama doesn’t water down the process.

Obama has to prove he can rise above his own immigrant roots.

He has to prove he’s an American.

We already know he’s not a president.
