Twenty years ago when this comic strip was created, people may have been shocked when a major newspaper took political stands in favor of city officials.
These days it’s the rule, not the exception.
We expect them to take sides.
The only authentic scene was when Kato and the Green Hornet trashed the latter’s mansion a la Cato and the Pink Panther. Oh, oops — did I just say the pee word?
Hollywood may have the attention span of a gnat, but the rest of us don’t, especially the target audience, kids. This sordid film should have been called The Pink Hornet. (Or maybe The Green Horny.)
Once you mention “gay” it stays in the conscious mind for a while. When you mention it again, it stays there longer still. Two masked idiots singing to a radio tune in the car? Fighting, jealous, and feuding over a lady twenty years older than either of them? The only lust here is the Green Hornet for himself, for technology, and for Kato — not necessarily in that order.
Kids, it’s okay to hate your fathers. College age kids over age 21, drinking in excess, immature to the extreme, trust fund babies, it’s okay to cut your father’s bronze statue’s head off. It’s healthy to vent your hatred that way.
It’s wrong to ever tell your Dad how you feel about his bullying. It’s better to button up those emotions, crawl into a closet, and let them fester into homosexuality.
Dad, it’s okay if your boy wants lots of Green Hornet toys after watching this film. Let him feel good about dreaming about a pink costume because gays are invulnerable, honorable, and they always win their man.
Green Hornet says several times that Kato is a pervert for sketching the female figure. If you see your son dong that, Dad, take him to the wood shed for a real ass whipping.
I really don’t know why Hollywood is so much enamored with gays, gay culture, gay jokes, gay hand signals, and gay everything else. It’s the end of two of the most profitable ventures in movie history — the whole “buddy” genre and the superhero sidekick sub-genre.
Not to worry, they have the new gay/lesbian/bisexual/transexual genre.
That’s where this film belongs.
