Several candidates remarked during the slugfest for the Republican nomination how young minority kids have no concept of the work ethic. Right about this time the Obama administration rolled out new rules limiting “child labor” on farms.
Not long after that Obama signed an Executive Order eliminating the requirement that welfare recipients be actively seeking work.
Do you see a trend there? The Christian work ethic is evil. Sloth is supreme. Grovel in it!
Now there is a marked trend for people who have been out of work for a year or more not being able to get any kind of work at all. Their job skills have digressed. They’re more trouble than they’re worth.
Eight million people have stopped looking for work. The labor department doesn’t even count them in the statistics any more. When you stop being even a statistic, that’s pretty damn low.
This is the kind of environment China can expect now that they have relented to “international pressure” to shut down their labor camps for petty criminal offenders. Four years of “re-education” without the benefit of a jury trial. That’s criminal!
(Who are we to criticize? Killing “terrorists” every day without so much as a legal proceeding to sentence them to death. Doing it by remote control, no less, using drones! Think thousands of young soldiers at a computer game console, killing people in a video game – for real!)
America needs work camps. I bet many unemployed people would sign over their jobless benefits to a private company clever enough to set up “re-education” camps to train people with the skills they need to compete for a job. Exchange room and board for classes on computers, software, carpentry and home economics? I’m in! Practical skills. References from teachers. Academic credits for your resume. Hope.
I think China will have an even worse problem than we do now, with all the criminally-inclined young people. Here in America they join gangs to do their thing. In the Middle East the young jobless population riot and overthrow governments. It’s a youth thing. To them, it’s just social networking.
China is different. Everybody there looks just alike. It’s almost a joke to get people to describe a suspect to the police sketch artist. Asian, black hair, brown eyes, small, thick glasses, iPad, Nike tennis shoes. That describes a billion people!
China needs their boot camps for petty criminals. They can either re-educate them in a control environment or they will be re-educated in a gang environment to become career criminals.
As much as I hate the ChiComs, I wouldn’t ever wish that on anybody.
There are limits, you know.
