Whatever happened to the Great Walmart Walkout? The only thing the media was worried about was that it might keep people from their Christmas shopping.
Wall Street was horrified that people wouldn’t go out and add an average of $642 to their already (average) $6000 credit card bills, on which they are paying 21% interest.
And just last week AIG was going to join a $25 billion suit against the government for charging them 14% on the $182 billion bail out they got from Washington (FROM THE TAXPAYERS), which they have since paid in full, and their stock has almost doubled in value since 2009?
The drive-by media have been in high gear for months now. Oh, we can’t tax people earning only $250,000 – that’s next to nothing for people who live in large cities like New York City or the environs.
Hello? Try making minimum wage and living in a large city. Try effing living in the Big Apple on wages of $10/hour – $20,000/year – one month’s pay for a “middle class” family making $250,000.
Several of the largest retailers are in the top ten list of companies with the most minimum wage workers. JC Penny is at the top of the list, which also includes Macy’s, Sears, Target and Walmart.
All us minimum wage workers are supposed to spend our hard-earned cash at joints like that? So Wall Street can have their 70% of the economy that’s consumer spending propping up corporate profits, and stuffing “middle class” bank accounts?
On your way home from the mall and your Xmas shopping you no doubt grabbed a fast food meal for the road.
All that work on preparing the turkey dinner – hours on end spent with loud kids and obnoxious inlaws – what’s better than an anonymous meal at Olive Garden, Wendys, iHop, Starbucks, Burger King, McDonald’s or KFC – the other major retailers in the top ten of minimum wage workers.
Nobody knows how to whip up a good meal line minimum wagers.
