Astrophysics String Theory is Nothing But Mental Masturbation

With all due respect to Stephen Hawking, the progenitor of String Theory, it’s pretty clear that his brainchild is even more dysfunctional than he is.  There is, has been and never will be any proof that String Theory is valid.  In fact, a part of the theory itself says that proving it is impossible.

This String Theory crap is almost as mushy as global warming theory.  There is so much data on global warming and such a wide variation of climate versus weather on a seasonal basis – and people are generally so totally ignorant of the facts in either case – that scientists and politicians can cook the data to prove (convincingly!) whatever point of view they support.

Except that String Theory has no data.  There are no real phenomena that it actually describes or predicts.  You can’t measure the bending of light as it passes the sun as they did to “prove” Relativity back in the day.  You can’t check it against the time shift in orbiting atomic clocks.

What an awesome idea!  For fifty years scientists have written tens of thousands of papers, gotten Ph.Ds and tenures and retired with full honors, all on the basis of something that does not even exist.

How many billions of dollars have been spent supporting their research?  How many universities have ponied up scholarships and fellowships, department chairs and research grants over the last 50 years, so these scientists could further their delusions?

Who can even prove them wrong?  There is no proof, by definition.  They can keep on developing their String Theory for a hundred years – a thousand years! – and nobody will ever be able to stop them or prove them wrong.  Because there is no proof, by definition.

This collective delusion makes science look like a total farce.  It makes global warming look rock solid.  It depicts science as the most politically correct of all human endeavors.

It’s just plain ugly.

Immoral.
