NASA has been castrated by the Obama administration. Our astronauts have to buy seats on Soviet rockets to shuttle to and from the International Space Station.
The notion of a manned U.S. Mars expedition has been cancelled indefinitely.
Ditto for the Defense Department. They face massive cutbacks with sequestration. Even if sequestration is avoided, the Democrats will still cut defense funding to the bone. Every major defense contractor will slash their workforce no matter what.
And yet, every professor at every Aerospace Engineering Department at every engineering college in the U.S. is busy researching and publishing new journal and conference articles. Virtually all the fundamental research in aerospace engineering is done in the U.S. Virtually all of it will be used by China, not any western nation.
China is the only nation in the world with any money to invest in building space exploration technology. They recently put a man in orbit. Their space agency is planning their own space station in permanent orbit. They’re building it already. They’re planning a man on the moon and a manned expedition to Mars.
The technology the Chinese use for all their space projects will be far superior to anything the U.S. has ever done. The shuttles were 1970s technology.
The Chinese just floated a brand new aircraft carrier. It makes our flattops look like clunky old jalopies by comparison. The Chinese have a new fleet of stealth aircraft under construction. Better, faster and stealthier than anything in our arsenal.
Apparently, our engineering experts are quite content working for China. Tenure is tenure no matter who benefits from your research, right? Ivy League types have always been extreme liberals, even engineering professors.
With Obama in office, campus liberalism pales in contrast to Obama’s extreme socialism. What’s the difference anymore with communists? Even the Red Chinese call their system socialism. They’re one and the same.
