Annual Temperature in the U.S. Jumps to Record High

Liberals aren’t the only ones with a stream-of-consciousness political correctness.  Conservatives do it too, and it’s just as offensive if not more so.

Last week the news broke that the average temperature in the continental United States was 1 degree Fahrenheit higher than average.  The liberal drive-by media went ballistic.  There were immediate calls for new action on Obama’s Carbon Trading slash global warming agenda.

As the party of Big Business, conservatives abhor the whole notion of global warming.  Global warming means limitations on carbon emissions.  It means more expensive coal-fired electricity power plants that emit less pollution and more EPA limitations on carbon emissions at every level.

Industry uses energy, energy inevitably creates carbon waste products, and nobody wants to spend the money to fix this.  They hate the first law of thermodynamics more than liberals hate the second amendment.

Oddly, neither side mentioned the fact that America’s new surplus in natural gas, thanks to fracking, has allowed power companies to convert many coal-fired plants to more efficient natural gas.  Our carbon footprint is now better than it was in 1994.

Environmentalists don’t want to refer to this because they want to push through their radical carbon cap agenda.  Conservatives don’t want to mention it either because fracking is a dangerous, even disastrous, discombobulating destruction of terra firma that nobody has the slightest clue about.

What will the long term consequences be?  Will they drain underground fresh water reservoirs?  Lakes?  Whole rivers?  Will America become a desert wasteland?  Will the fruited plains become barren of all life?

Nobody knows one way or the other.  Nobody is even studying the possibility.  Both sides are horrified of the possibility.  Horrified of the TRUTH.

Conservatives prefer to harp on the statistical nature of weather data.  Sure, the temperature jumped 1 degree – but it’s dropped x in the last y years.  On and on, pure blather.  They’re scared.  They’re in abject denial.  Actually, they’re horrified.

Here’s another graphic of global temperatures. There’s a second line for estimated global carbon emissions. Is there a connection? Is global warming for real?  Make your own conclusions.

It’s the trend that counts, not the latest data point.

Who the frack gives a damn, they all say.
