Violence isn’t the only issue with Hollywood in facilitating mass murders by young adults these days.
Think savage immorality.
Screenwriting is very much like journalism. You get an “angle” on a story and go with it. That’s the hook that sucks people into the drama and keeps them there. This film’s hook is moral depravity. (How’d you like to have a lustful mom like the image below – psych!)
Every teenager with a hot, sexy young stepmother spies on her from his tree house. This lucky kid actually gets to have sex with Mommy. Wow! What an ego rush for all the shy, ugly, repressed young adult males out there watching the film in a dark, musty theater.
Mom says she just wanted to get him to move out of the house. Pity nobody ever tried that kind of reverse psychology on me.
Moms any more are just as narcissistic as their kids. They get a thrill showing off their silicon tits to their teenage sons. They can justify it a hundred ways. How better to desensitize him to the allures of modern women? Where’s the harm in a little innocent flirting? The problem is that’s not how kids see it.
But, wait. It gets better. This kids runs away to the city (Mom’s ruse worked), spots a young lady who’s the spitting image of his real Mom — and, dream of all dreams… he falls for this hot broad, she falls for him, they have ravishing sex, and even some romance. (Not necessarily in that order.) And more sex, repeatedly, in exotic locations.
Incest is apparently no longer taboo, at least not in Hollywood. Weeellll, it’s not really incest, legally, between a kid and his step mother, is it????
It’s pretty clear the kid has some serious problems. He should have been put on a psych ward by his filthy rich parents, not nurtured even facilitated. (Moms have their sexual needs too.) He’ll probably grow up to be a woman-hater, an abuser of women, a psychopath even.
Through it all, I’m quite sure he’ll be a good son to his parents, especially to his Mom.
But, for now, he’s the talented star of the show and worthy of our enduring adoration, and emulation — if you can get away with it.
That’s show biz.
